Objectives/Outcomes/Long-term Results

Improved socio-economic development and resilience of disaster-prone communities in South and Southeast Asia through climate-smart and risk-sensitive livelihoods and greater involvement and leadership of women and persons with disabilities.



Major Activities

  • Identification, survey and mapping of most at-risk groups and Inclusive and participatory risk assessment and mapping.
  • Establishment and strengthening of SHGs and community organizations
  • Capacity building for community trainers/facilitators with the involvement of identified women and persons with disabilities on DRR/CCA (ToT, trainings, workshops, etc.).
  • Inclusive DRR/CCA outreach, training and drill activities for broader community members led by trained community facilitators/trainers.
  • Distribution of disaster and climate mitigation tools to at-risk households/community business groups.
  • Development of advocacy plans and related advocacy measures through self-help groups of women and persons with disabilities.
  • Capacity development (training, coaching, sharing and learning activities) for communities on identification and development of risk-sensitive and climate-smart livelihoods. In particular, business models are to be identified/developed which offer at-risk population groups such as women and people with disabilities alternative sustainable income opportunities (topics include risk-sensitive and sustainable livelihoods, marketing and technical core competencies).
