PROJECT BRIEF 
 (Narrative – 500 words max including project aim/goal, approach, beneficiaries, intended changes etc.) 

  • Work with change agents to strengthen the capacity of sub-national government officials, schools and CBOs to build sustainable institutions.
  • Improve engagement throughout the sector to increase efficacy and drive improved WASH behaviour.
  • Create space for women and people with disabilities to influence decisions related to resource allocation, design, and monitoring of WASH services.
  • Facilitate the uptake of innovation and technologies by strengthening collaboration between different actors to increase demand for hygiene products and WASH technologies and providing incentives to local WASH entrepreneurs to supply them.
  • Influence social norms, institutions and communities to prioritize their needs through greater representation and meaningful participation of women and people with disabilities.


Objectives/Outcomes/Long-term Results

Specific Objective:

  • Change agents have willingness and ability to support inclusive WASH services in schools and communities
  • Increased equitable access to and use of WASH facilities and services in schools and communities
  • Increased dignity and meaningful engagement of women and people with disabilities in household, community and school decision making.
  • New evidence generate by the project is shared and implemented 


Major Activities

  • Training on Disability, Inclusive WASH & Hygiene, Disaster Risk Considered WASH for concerned staff who will engage with project implementation
  • Training WVB team on inclusive WASH advocacy, and organizing and facilitating inclusive training
  • Orientation on accessible WASH features using universal design     in the households , local government institutions and service providers
  • Provide orientation on inclusive assessment of WASH in school with tools for accessibility audit
  • Capacity development training provided to elected members of Union Parishad
  • Leadership training provided to CBOS and DPOs
  • Support CBO/DPO to develop gender and disability inclusive WASH action plans
  • 'Refreshers Leadership training of CBOs and DPOs
  • 'DPO/SHG group meetings (Union wise quarterly basis)
  • 'Support to SHG/DPOs for participating in Accessibility audits
  • Provide assistive devices for increasing participation of PWDs in decision making
  • Provide support to SHG and DPOs for referral to rehabilitation services
  • 'IEC materials translated in Braille accessible for persons with visual disability
  • Sharing workshop on accessibility audit findings
  • Consultation/dialogues with WASH players on disability inclusion and disaster risk reduction
  • District/Upazila level CBO and DPO Networking meeting
